Oregon’s cool-headed 2026 kicker: Gage Hurych is the Ducks’ next leg
Gage Hurych enters the 2026 season as Oregon’s expected starting kicker after a steady redshirt-freshman campaign in 2025, when he went 16-for-16 on extra points and handled kickoffs with a 64.3-yard average; he also owns a big-leg reputation and the “Ice Man” calm teammates like. The fit is appealing because Oregon clearly trusts his preparation and poise, but the full-field goal résumé is still thin after he was 0-for-1 on tries in 2025, so he looks more like a high-upside specialist than a proven volume weapon right now.
