D’Marco Cross brings veteran size and timely disruption to Butler’s defensive front
D’Marco Cross, a graduate-student defensive lineman for Butler, looks like a useful plug-and-play front-seven piece: he transferred in after seeing action in eight games for Illinois State in the 2023 season, then showed impact ability at Butler with sacks against Dayton in the 2024 season and a career-high four tackles plus a sack in that same Dayton game. At 6-foot-3 and 255 pounds in Butler’s 2024 roster, he offers experienced depth, length, and enough burst to finish plays — a good fit for a team wanting a mature, rotational DL who can flash in key moments.
