Trip DoVale brings strike-throwing upside and portal intrigue to Charlotte’s staff
Trip DoVale is a 6'1", 190-pound right-hander from Roswell, Georgia, with a live arm profile and a real track record of missing bats: Charlotte lists him after he fanned 121 hitters in 112.2 innings over two seasons at Georgia Highlands College, and he also spent the 2025 season in the 49ers’ program before entering the transfer portal with one year of eligibility left.[1][3] For a team, the appeal is the combo of proven strikeout ability, full-season experience, and a sturdy frame; the caution flag is that current 2026 in-game production data isn’t publicly available here, so the best read is that he looks like a power-depth arm with upside rather than a polished, finished product.[1][2][3]
