Gary Talton was UIC’s steady, high-IQ floor general
In the 2012-13 season, Gary Talton was UIC’s engine: he led the Flames in scoring at 12.3 points per game and added 4.4 assists per game, earning All-Horizon League Second Team honors while helping UIC finish 18-16. Known for running the offense cleanly, he showed real poise, efficient free-throw shooting, and late-game shot-making, including a 25-point outburst that season. If a team wants a composed guard who can organize, score, and handle pressure, Talton was the kind of two-way lead guard worth caring about.
