Columbia’s lefty Martin Zhang brings veteran depth and strikeout upside
Martin Zhang is a senior LHP for Columbia who has evolved from a low-usage bullpen arm into a useful, strike-throwing depth piece with real arm-life appeal. In the 2025 season, he appeared in two games for Columbia, and in summer ball he posted a 3.93 ERA with 24 strikeouts in 16 innings, a strong indicator of swing-and-miss ability. His value is less about flash and more about poise, left-handed matchup flexibility, and a track record that includes scoreless outings and high-school production that hinted at upside. If you need a competitive, experienced lefty with some hidden juice, he’s worth a look.
