Skylar Skinner is giving UMES a real two-way spark at the plate and on the bases
In the 2026 season, the 5-foot-10 freshman INF has been one of Maryland-Eastern Shore’s most productive bats, with official team stats showing a .293 average, 6 home runs, 17 RBIs, 22 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases while appearing in every game[2]. Skinner has also earned multiple MEAC Rookie of the Week honors after big series bursts, including a 5-hit, 4-run, 1-homer, 2-steal weekend against NC Central[1]. The fit is obvious: she brings extra-base pop, speed, and enough athleticism to play a premium infield spot, plus the kind of competitive edge coaches love in a freshman[1][2].
