Freshman lefty Cal Travers flashed real bite for Longwood in 2026
Cal Travers emerged in the 2026 season as a tough, competitive left-handed reliever-turned-starter for Longwood, finishing with a 1-2 record over 16 appearances and four starts, plus a 4.72 ERA, 43 strikeouts, and 18 walks in his debut year. His calling card is swing-and-miss stuff and poise: he struck out a career-high eight in six shutout innings against High Point in the Big South tournament and was praised by his coach for grinding through pressure and trending upward. If you want a fiery, developmental southpaw with upside, he’s worth a look.
