Braun Hartfield brings old-school shot-making and two-way edge to Pepperdine
Hartfield is the kind of veteran guard coaches love: a 6-foot-6 scorer who can rebound, defend, and create mismatch problems. In his most recent full college season before Pepperdine, he averaged 13.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals in 2019-20 at San Diego, and he was later described by Pepperdine’s staff as a proven scorer who can defend and rebound from the guard spot. The big selling point is versatility and experience; the concern is that he’s more of a volume shooter than a pure efficiency machine, so he fits best with a team that values tough-shot creation and wing size.
