Tall, experienced Toledo RHP Ryan Hughes brings strike-throwing upside and grad-transfer value
Ryan Hughes is a 6'7" right-hander with real frame-based upside and a workmanlike profile that has translated into innings for Toledo, where he logged 21 innings in 2025 with 19 strikeouts and a 6.86 ERA. He’s the kind of arm a staff can plug into a bullpen or spot-start role: seasoned, versatile, and academically strong as a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility left. The appeal is projection and presence, but the current performance track record suggests a developmental arm rather than a finished product.
