Clemson’s long, rangy walk-on defender still waiting for the breakout
In the 2025 season, Patrick Swygert remained a deep-depth Clemson defensive tackle with only one defensive snap in one appearance, after two snaps across two games in 2024 and three total defensive snaps entering 2026. His appeal is size and story: at 6-foot-5 and about 285 pounds, the Batesburg-Leesville native has the frame Clemson likes, plus the work-ethic reputation that comes with a walk-on who kept earning roster space. He’s not a production pick yet, but he’s a developmental, high-character fit if a team wants length, size, and patience.
