Mikey Welsh earns his keep as a scrappy, reliable Aztecs slot threat
In the 2025 season, Mikey Welsh finished with 12 catches for 129 yards and no touchdowns for San Diego State, and he also handled return work, showing the staff trusts his versatility[3][8]. At 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds, he’s not a jump-ball bully; his value is quickness, toughness, and the kind of blue-collar consistency that earned him a scholarship after strong camp and scrimmage work in 2025[14][15]. He looks like a fit for a team that wants a compact, high-effort receiver who can contribute in multiple phases and keep the offense on schedule[3][15].
