Toledo’s 6-foot-6 freshman lefty Henry Johnson brings projection and polish
In the 2026 season, Henry Johnson is a freshman left-handed pitcher for Toledo who debuted in March and stands out for his projectable 6-foot-6 frame, loose arm action, and feel for multiple pitches. Pre-college scouting described a fastball with ride and run, a sweeping slider, and a fading changeup, which gives him a starter’s toolkit if the velocity keeps climbing. He looks like a developmental upside play more than a finished product right now, but the combination of size, deception, and pitch shape makes him a compelling fit for a program that can nurture a young arm.
