Drew Thompson brings junior-college polish to UAB’s 2026 rotation mix
In the 2026 season, Drew Thompson is a 6-foot-2, 225-pound right-hander for UAB who arrived with junior-college experience from North Central Texas College, giving the Blazers a mature arm rather than a long-term project[1][5]. UAB’s roster lists him as a junior RHP, and team materials note he joined a 2026 pitching class built around experienced JUCO additions[1][5]. The key draw is the ceiling-plus-readiness combo: a physically sturdy frame, right-handed power profile, and the kind of age/experience that can help a staff survive weekend grind and midweek chaos[1][5].
