a durable strike-thrower with ace flashes at CSUN
Oughton has quickly established himself as a meaningful piece of CSUN’s rotation, opening 2026 with wins over Seattle U and Cal State Fullerton and backing it with a seven-inning, eight-strikeout quality start against Fullerton. His calling card is innings-eating right-handed command with swing-and-miss upside: at Yavapai, he logged a perfect game in 2025, earned multiple all-conference honors, and followed a freshman season where he led the staff in starts, wins, innings and strikeouts. At 6-foot-4, he profiles as a competitive, workhorse RHP who looks like a fit for teams wanting poise, durability and a track record of big-game performance.
