In-state tight end prospect turned medical retirement, so the “fit” question is now off the field
In the 2024 season, Rob Booker II arrived at Wisconsin as a 6-foot-5, 240-pound freshman tight end and a three-star in-state recruit, but he never played a snap and was listed out throughout the year before medically retiring in 2025 because of head injuries and neurological issues. His appeal was always the frame, red-zone touch, and upside as a pass-catching TE who posted 20 catches for 348-368 yards and six touchdowns as a senior at Waunakee, plus all-state honors and a state-title-game run. The bigger story now is health, not production: he is no longer an on-field option for the Badgers.
