Garrett Hutchins is a breakout freshman bat giving Air Force real middle-order juice
In 2026, Hutchins flashed as a high-impact freshman for Air Force, earning Mountain West Player and Freshman of the Week after a .692 weekend with nine hits, three doubles, two homers, and 10 RBIs against San Jose State[1][2]. His value goes beyond the box score: he produces big extra-base damage, handles pressure well enough to stay hot across all three games, and already looks like a lineup stabilizer. If you want a young infielder with immediate run-production upside and evident confidence, he looks like a strong fit.
