Carah Sweet is Montana’s calm-handed breakout arm in the circle
In the 2026 season, Carah Sweet emerged as a major reason Montana’s softball season stayed alive, earning Big Sky Co-Newcomer of the Year after leading the Grizzlies with 9 wins and a 4.08 ERA, then posting a 4-1 league record with a 3.89 ERA in conference play.[3][6] She flashed real swing-and-miss upside with a 3-0 week and a 0.82 ERA in late March, including Montana’s first Division I shutout in more than two years, and coaches/lens-of-the-game types clearly value her poise—Sweet herself said she’s at her best when she stays calm and trusts the moment.[1][8]
