Villanova RHP JP Podgorski brings strikeout ability, but command and run prevention remain the swing skills
Podgorski is a right-handed starter/reliever for Villanova who has shown he can miss bats, including 28 strikeouts in 41.0 innings in the 2025 season and 26 strikeouts in 44.1 innings in 2026, but his ERA has stayed in the 8.5 range, signaling volatility and a need for cleaner command and more efficient innings. He can help a staff if you want a competitive arm with upside and feel for getting strikeouts, but right now he profiles more as a developmental fit than an immediate high-leverage answer.
