Billy Townson gives Rutgers a high-upside, pressure-heavy 133 option

In the 2025-26 season, Billy Townson went 10-5 in redshirt action for Rutgers, with wins at the Keystone Classic, F&M Open, and a tech-fall debut in the Rutgers quad, showing real pace and bonus-point punch for a young lightweight. He was a CIF state runner-up in 2025 and arrived as a FloWrestling top-90 overall signee, which matches the eye test: gritty, aggressive, and not afraid to force offense. Rutgers’ own updates also had him competing in U20 freestyle at the 2026 U.S. Open, a good sign of upside and mat time.
