Big-frame freshman righty with power stuff and a quiet early impact
Caleb Short, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound freshman right-hander from Little Rock Catholic, brings the kind of body and arm talent scouts love to dream on. In a 2026 appearance against LSU, he delivered an inning with two strikeouts, showing he can miss bats right away at the college level. Earlier in high school, he flashed dominance with a seven-inning, 14-strikeout shutout gem, hinting at a high ceiling if his command keeps sharpening. He looks like a developmental win for Louisiana Tech: projectable, physical, and already showing poise in pressure spots.
