Sophia Wygast is Akron’s middle-order masher and a near-errorless defender
In the 2026 season, Sophia Wygast emerged as one of Akron’s most dangerous bats, hitting .339 with a school-record 60 RBI, 11 home runs, and a .582 slugging percentage while also playing elite defense with just one error in 285 chances. She followed a strong 2025 campaign and earned First-Team All-MAC and NFCA All-Region honors, which says plenty about her consistency and impact. If your team wants a physical, run-producing INF who brings power, discipline, and reliability, Wygast is a very easy player to care about.
