Caine Elroy brings veteran linebacker toughness to Portland State
In the 2026 season, senior linebacker Caine Elroy gives Portland State a physical, experienced presence in the middle of the defense, coming in at 6-foot-0 and 225 pounds with a résumé that includes 2025 action at Angelo State, where he played in seven games, made eight tackles, and blocked a kick. He also arrived with proven production from Golden West College, where he posted 33 tackles, four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two pass breakups as a sophomore, plus All-Conference honors and captaincy. He looks like a culture-fit, high-effort defender with special-teams value and leadership juice.
