Ayden Sunday brings freshman pop, contact skills, and immediate RBI punch for Lamar
In the 2026 season, Ayden Sunday gave Lamar a useful left-side bat off the bench and in spot starts, appearing in 29 games with 14 at-bats, 5 runs, and 2 RBIs, plus an RBI double against Texas A&M and a sacrifice-fly run in a win over McNeese. His high-school résumé also showed hit-tool upside, as he hit .359 in 2025 with a .500 on-base percentage and .513 slugging. The early read: a competitive freshman with reliable bat-to-ball traits and enough versatility to help a lineup without forcing the issue.
