Redshirt Sophomore RHP with Elite Relief Intensity and 4.76 ERA in 2026
Colton Starling, a 5'11", 210-lb right-handed pitcher for Western Carolina, stands out not just for his 4.76 ERA across five relief appearances in the 2026 season, but for his explosive intensity and ability to dominate in short bursts—fanning six batters in just 3.1 innings during a standout outing against VMI. Though he missed the 2025 season due to injury/surgery, his return as a redshirt sophomore signals resilience and a high-intensity mindset that transcends stats. His compact frame and powerful delivery make him a perfect fit for teams needing a reliable, battle-tested reliever with elite closing instincts and a personality that thrives under pressure.
