Bryce Riggs is Eastern Illinois’ ace-level strike-thrower with national award buzz
Riggs has been one of the most reliable Sunday-and-saturday-type arms in the OVC in 2026, finishing the regular season 7-2 with a 3.32 ERA and leading the league in opponent batting average (.187) while ranking among the conference’s strikeout leaders; he was also named OVC Pitcher of the Year and a National Pitcher of the Year semifinalist. What makes him interesting is the combination of durability, command, and bat-missing ability—plus the kind of big-game poise that showed up in a 10-strikeout complete game in the 2025 OVC tournament. He looks like a good fit for a team that values innings, efficiency, and competitive toughness.
