Iona's Dynamic Scoring Guard with Elite MAAC Pedigree
A.J. English, the 6'4" Iona Gaels guard, boasts career college averages of 17.9 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 4.5 APG with a 42.3% FG in recent seasons, earning Preseason All-MAAC First Team honors for his perimeter scoring prowess and playmaking. His differentiator is explosive intensity and clutch scoring—dropping 17 points in back-to-back games despite modest minutes (21.8 MPG)—showcasing a gritty, high-IQ game from a basketball family legacy (son of ex-NBA'er A.J. English Sr.). No major injury flags; he's a perfect fit for teams needing a versatile, battle-tested scorer ready for pro rotations.
