Mikey Munn’s ball-hawking breakout made him one of the FCS’s sharpest defensive backs
Munn emerged in the 2025 season as a true sophomore starter for South Dakota, tying for second in the MVFC with three interceptions and adding strong coverage value with eight pass breakups and 59 tackles, including 3.0 for loss. He was named first-team All-MVFC and second-team All-America, which fits the tape: quick, instinctive, and aggressive at the catch point, with 10.51 speed in the 100 meters that shows up when he closes. For a team needing a rangy, disruptive DB who can play with confidence and create turnovers, he’s a very appealing fit.
