Evan Whiteaker brings steady strike-throwing and classroom-grade reliability to ACU’s rotation
In the 2026 season, Whiteaker showed he can handle real innings for Abilene Christian, going 4-3 with 46 strikeouts over 55.1 innings while making 18 pitching appearances and six starts; he also earned academic recognition, which says a lot about his discipline and dependability[3][6]. He opened the 2026 season with four one-hit relief innings for the Wildcats[1], and his profile points to a polished right-hander who competes, fills multiple roles, and gives a staff innings coverage rather than just raw velo flash[2][15].
