Mercer’s Cooper Culberson: live arm, still more projection than résumé
Cooper Culberson is a 6-0, 170-pound right-hander from Jackson, Georgia, who redshirted his first season at Mercer and has yet to make his college debut, so the 2026 season is really about upside and development rather than stat chasing. In high school, he showed real bat-missing ability and run prevention, posting a 0.93 ERA with 47 strikeouts as a senior and 67 strikeouts with a 2.79 ERA as a junior while helping Strong Rock Christian win a state title and reach a Final Four. Mercer’s staff has highlighted his loose arm, pitch command, and offseason growth—classic “could pop if it clicks” stuff.
