FIU’s Jewelie Vanderkous brings starter’s guts and bullpen flexibility
Vanderkous has been a useful two-way pitching piece for FIU, working as a right-handed pitcher/infield option and appearing in key spots across the 2024 and 2025 seasons. In 2024, she logged 86.1 innings, posted a 4-6 record with 26 strikeouts and 40 walks, and even earned a save, showing she can handle both starts and relief work[4]. FIU’s game notes and box scores also show she was trusted in pressure innings, which matters if a team wants a competitor who can absorb innings and stay in the fight[7][9].
