Gavin O’Leary brings JUCO-tested toughness to Eastern Washington’s safety room
In the 2025 season, Gavin O’Leary entered Eastern Washington after earning JUCO All-American and All-State honors at Laney JC, where he posted 75 total tackles, 50 solo stops, 2.0 sacks, one interception and three fumble recoveries. He looks like a physical, versatile defensive back with real production and a history of doing a little bit of everything—plus he showed offensive chops in high school, which usually hints at good open-field instincts. For a team needing a hitter who can also cover ground, he’s a pretty intriguing fit.
