Josh McClintock brings pop, clutch hits, and versatility to WIU’s infield
In the 2026 season, Josh McClintock has shown real middle-of-the-order juice for Western Illinois, homering against Illinois and Saint Louis and delivering extra-base production like RBI doubles in conference play. He looks like a gritty, opportunistic infielder who can help with timely contact, run creation, and situational execution, including bunts and aggressive baserunning. The appeal here is his all-around competitiveness: he’s not just a bat, he’s a spark plug who keeps innings alive and can change a game with one swing or one smart play.
