a run-stuffing force who can anchor the middle when healthy
In the 2023 season, Joe Evans was a third-team All-American Athletic Conference defensive lineman for UTSA, finishing with 18 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and a safety, while also earning a strong 91.2 run-defense grade that ranked among Texas’s best interior linemen. He’s the kind of DL who can clog running lanes, hold his ground at the point of attack, and quietly wreck game plans—exactly the sort of grown-man presence coaches love. The big caveat: he missed most of the 2024 season after a knee injury, so the upside is real, but health is the whole ballgame.
