Elle van Breusegen brings speed, contact, and outfield value to SIUE
Van Breusegen is a speedy 5-foot-3 outfielder whose game is built on contact hitting, aggressiveness on the bases, and reliable defensive utility for SIU Edwardsville. In 2026, she posted a .226 average with 7 hits, 5 runs, 4 stolen bases, and 1 RBI, while also producing a 2-for-2 outing against Missouri State that showed her ability to impact a game in limited chances. Coming out of high school, she was a three-time first-team All-Metro pick who led Columbia in batting average and runs scored, which suggests a competitive, high-motor player with upside as she settles into the college game.
