big-bodied Serbian guard who brought playmaking and boards to Marshall
Aleksa Nikolic is a 6-foot-7 guard from Serbia who gave Marshall a jumbo, versatile backcourt look, with his best season showing steady secondary playmaking and rebounding for a perimeter player. In the 2014-15 season, he averaged 5.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 32 games, and later in the 2016-17 season he still flashed all-around utility with 2.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. The differentiator is feel: he’s a big guard with size, passing instincts and enough strength to handle physical play, which makes him a fit for a team wanting lineup flexibility more than pure shot creation.
