On-base machine with sneaky pop, steady glove, and pro-ready polish
Dowd’s 2026 season at Florida State was a breakout in all the right ways: he hit .293 with 10 home runs, 51 walks, 52 runs scored, and a .456 on-base percentage, then added Third Team All-ACC honors and a third-round MLB Draft selection. His calling card is elite strike-zone control for a left-handed center fielder, plus enough gap power to punish mistakes and timely-hit value in big spots. At 5-foot-10, he’s more grinder than gawker — the kind of high-contact, high-IQ table-setter who fits a team that values on-base skill, defensive reliability, and relentless at-bats.
