Nevada’s double-double wrecking ball and rim protector
AJ West was a high-impact Nevada big whose 2014-15 breakout made him one of the Mountain West’s most punishing rebounders and shot blockers: he averaged 12.1 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in the 2014-15 season, and Nevada listed him as one of the top rebounders and shot blockers in the nation. He also brought real edge—Eric Musselman called him a double-double threat every night and an opponent-specific game-plan problem, which is exactly the kind of interior presence that changes a team’s toughness, possession battle, and defensive ceiling.
