In the 2025 season, Mosai Newsom gave South Dakota a sturdy, versatile presence on the defensive line, finishing with 44 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, and a quarterback hurry while serving as a team captain. At 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, he brings true interior size, veteran experience, and a high-motor, plug-the-gap style that coaches love when they need run defense and toughness. He also flashed playmaking feel with a 2024 interception, which is a nice reminder he’s more than just a space-eater.
