Portland State freshman catcher Sierra Llamas brings poise, pop, and steady contact
In the 2026 season, Sierra Llamas emerged as a versatile freshman catcher for Portland State, and the Vikings’ notes highlight her as part of a “talented catching corps” with experience and versatility. She’s been productive in key stretches — including a four-hit, .444 series against Sacramento State and a stretch of a four-game hitting streak and 11-game on-base streak — while also showing power with a home run and RBI production in conference play. Her calling card is a mix of poise behind the plate, offensive upside, and local-state pedigree, including Metro League Player of the Year and First-Team All-State honors in high school.
