Gardner-Webb’s Reliable Lefty Relief Spark
Jerek Hobb has been a steady, trusted arm for Gardner-Webb in the 2026 season, flashing the kind of strike-throwing relief profile coaches love: in key outings he has logged multi-inning work, kept games within reach, and finished with punchouts, including 5.1 innings with 4 strikeouts against FDU and 3.2 innings with 7 strikeouts in a win over Bradley. He fits as a competitive, low-drama left-handed pitcher who can absorb innings and protect leads — the bullpen glue guy with just enough bite to matter.
