Alex Caldwell brings veteran floor-spacing and steady guard play to UNC Asheville
Caldwell is a proven, experienced **guard** who can stretch the floor, create offense, and keep a team organized: in his 2022-23 season at UNC Asheville, he played 30 games, scored 173 points, shot 33.3% from three, and added 31 assists, and at N.C. Central he showed a more playmaking-heavy profile with 33 assists and 15 steals in 24 games.[1][3] The differentiator is his calm, efficient role-player value—he has hit big shots in high-leverage moments, including 11 points against UCLA in the NCAA Tournament, and his game fits teams that need a reliable, low-drama perimeter connector rather than a high-usage scorer.[1]
