Experienced Ball State guard with a senior’s poise and a grad-student’s polish
Austin Nehls gives Ball State a steady backcourt presence rather than a flashy one. In Ball State’s 2019-20 roster notes, he was listed as a 6-foot-3, 185-pound senior guard who transferred from Central Connecticut and was eligible immediately after graduating, a profile that points to maturity, adaptability, and coach-trust value. He also earned NEC Basketball Scholar Athlete of the Year honors in 2018, which reinforces the “smart, reliable, low-drama” fit. If you want a guard who understands the game, can settle a team, and won’t need hand-holding, Nehls checks that box.
