Lance Takamura brings freshman catcher versatility and quiet value to Manhattan
Takamura is listed as a 2026 sophomore catcher at Manhattan, but the most useful signal is his role: a lean 5'7", 140-pound backstop who earned a spot on the 2025-26 Metro Conference Academic Honor Roll, which points to a high-IQ, dependable profile. Manhattan’s roster and bio pages show no current-season stats yet, so the evaluation is more about projection than production. If you need a defense-first catcher with academic discipline and room to grow into the frame, he’s a smart developmental fit.
