Radford’s Kara Alday brings roster versatility and a punch-you-in-the-mouth bench profile
Kara Alday is a sophomore catcher/first baseman at Radford who gives the Highlanders defensive flexibility and depth behind the plate or at the corners. In 2026, she did not appear in game action, but her 2025 debut showed real value: 12 hits in 41 games, 17 starts, and a team-best six hits as a pinch hitter, plus her first multi-hit game in a win over Winthrop. She looks like the kind of gritty, team-first depth piece coaches trust when they want contact, versatility, and a spark off the bench.
