SIUE’s Noah Thompson brings freshman lefty upside with real pitchability
In the 2026 season, Noah Thompson has already drawn SIUE starting assignments as a freshman left-hander, and his collegiate debut showed both promise and the usual early-career bumps: he allowed one run on one hit while striking out four, but also walked five[3]. He profiles as a lean, athletic arm with a developed multi-pitch mix from high school, and prep reports praised his ability to throw strikes with a fastball that could reach 86 mph and a breaker/changeup combination that gave hitters different looks[4]. If you want a projectable, competitive LHP with starter traits and room to grow, he’s a name worth watching[1][2][4].
