Old Dominion’s gritty rebound-and-defense forward
Denzell Taylor is best known as a hard-nosed, winning-first forward who brought elite defensive energy and glass-cleaning to Old Dominion, leading the Monarchs in offensive rebounds in 2015-16 with 153 and averaging 7.2 rebounds per game that season. He was described by ODU as an “elite defender” with a mean, grimy style that let him take on top scorers and do the dirty work teams love but box scores miss. If you want toughness, rebounding, and positional defense, Taylor fits; if you need a high-usage scorer, he’s not your guy.
