Loreal Byrd brings power, polish, and a high-upside two-way profile to FGCU
In the 2024 season, Loreal Byrd arrived at FGCU as a freshman with a proven bat and advanced run-producing track record, after hitting .506 with 14 home runs, 47 RBI, 52 runs, a .632 on-base percentage, and 16 steals as a high-school senior. Her calling card is impact offense with patience and athleticism, which makes her more than a one-tool corner infielder/pitcher type. FGCU’s 2026 roster and roster notes list her as INF/P, and the only current-season note available is that she redshirted/did not play in 2026, so the fit question is still about long-term upside rather than immediate production.
