Tennessee Tech’s multi-role righty who keeps delivering in pressure spots
In the 2025 season, Drew Mattox showed real value as a versatile Tennessee Tech right-hander, working as both a starter and late-inning option, with multiple saves and a few high-leverage outings that underline the staff’s trust in him. His calling card is competitiveness: he’s the kind of pitcher who gets attacked in the zone, competes through traffic, and has been leaned on in tight games. The raw numbers were uneven at times, but the role flexibility and clutch usage make him an intriguing fit for teams that value toughness, strike-throwing, and bullpen chess pieces.
