Freshman RHP with strong pedigree, but still a blank slate for Liberty
Riley Gibson enters Liberty as a 2026 freshman right-hander from Southern Shores, N.C., with a solid prep résumé, including two first-team all-conference honors and a Perfect Game 17U BCS National Championship all-tournament nod in 2024. His listed frame is 6-foot-1, 170 pounds, and he brings a right-right profile that typically fits a starter or multi-inning role. The catch: Liberty’s 2026 roster and transfer notes indicate he did not record stats in his freshman season, so the key question is projection, not production. Good fit if you want upside and development; not yet a proven college arm.
