Wyatt Mueller brings rangy size and playmaker instincts to Illinois State’s secondary
In the 2025 season, Wyatt Mueller arrived at Illinois State as a 6-foot-2, 205-pound freshman DB with a strong high-school résumé: 79 tackles and six interceptions as a senior, plus a pick-six and 15 total touchdowns on offense at Quincy Notre Dame. He looks like a physical, versatile defender who can tackle, read plays quickly, and compete for the ball—exactly the kind of high-upside safety/corner hybrid that can make a secondary tougher. The catch: there’s no college stat line yet, so he’s more “watch this space” than finished product.
